Current Projects contributing to Climate Change

1. Community Governance (WCS has been working with local communities to build capacity and facilitate community based management of their natural resource base for future generations).

2. Conservation and Conflict (Through the program’s focus on natural resource conservation, Wild Life Conservation Society  has built critical links within and across communities that provide a safe forum to discuss common solutions that will promote mutual understanding and positive attitudes).

3. Forestry and Watershed (WCS has helped local communities, the Provincial Forest Department Gilgit-Baltistan and UNDP to select sites for their Mountain & Markets and Business and Biodiversity projects and to establish biodiversity business enterprise committees under our program’s community resource organizations in Diamer and Astore Districts, with the aims to protect and generate optimum benefits through proper marketing of NTFPs).
