1. Administer and implement the provisions of Environment Protection Act
2. Take measures to promote research and development of science and technology
3. Identify the needs for, and initiate legislation in various sectors of the environment
4. Provide information and guidance to the public on environmental matters
5. Encourage the formation and working of non-government, community and village organizations to prevent and control pollution and promote sustainable development
6. Take all necessary measures for protection, conservation, rehabilitation and improvement of the environment, and for prevention and control of pollution
7. Promotion of sustainable development

  2. Sindh Environmental Council Jan 2018 established for Sindh Environment Quality Standards (SEQS) and also for the framing the rules of procedure for SEP Council.
